As an Learning Experience Designer, you'll have the opportunity to design interactive, game-based learning experiences (LXs) that are engaging, innovative, and effectively meet the needs of students and teachers. You'll also collaborate with our internal Educational Strategist and Scientific Subject Matter Experts to ensure that the content is accurate and relevant to the learning objectives, and work closely with our platform team to integrate the LX with our new Unity-based platform.

What you’ll be doing

• Create Labster LX design standards for an engaging, interactive, and innovative LXs by using various instructional design strategies and aligned with Labster’s game design principles

• Collaborate with the Labster platform team to ensure that the LX is integrated with the new platform

• Collaborate with the internal Educational Strategist and Scientific Subject Matter Experts to ensure that the LX content is accurate and relevant to the learning objectives

• Iterate continuously to improve the LX by incorporating feedback, evaluating the effectiveness of design decisions, and adapting to changing market trends and user and customer needs

• Ensure that the LX is accessible and usable to a wide range of students

• Document the design and development process, including design decisions and technical specifications to ensure that the learning experience is scalable, maintainable, and reusable

• Conduct research and analysis to understand the learning goals, target audience, and market trends

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in digital learning experience design, instructional design, and education technology to ensure that the learning experience remains innovative and effective

If you’ve got these skills, we’d love to hear from you :

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field

• 3+ years of experience in digital learning experience design or instructional design

• Experience in designing engaging and interactive digital learning experiences

• Knowledge of instructional design and game design principles, theories, and best practices

• Background in STEM, ideally in biochemistry, while not required, is a big plus

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams

• Passion for education technology and an understanding of the education industry and its challenges
