We’re rapidly scaling our mobile app and we need a skilled Product Owner to continue scaling our consumer mobile product (https://play.google.com/store/...) targeted at emerging markets. You’ll work within a cross-functional development team to create an unforgettable experience for our students.

We have ambitious goals to grow the impact of this product from the early stage of hundreds of thousands of users, to 100 million in as short a time as possible. This should be a scary-but-exciting goal for you. Naturally, you’ll need to be someone who enjoys connecting with young people and students around the world. It’s our most mission-focused product aimed at helping those who don’t have access to high-quality education.


Key Responsibilities: 


  • Create a high-value roadmap based on a deep understanding of user personas, validated ideas and product’s strategic goals
  • Set clear product’s vision and communicate it to the development team and other stakeholders 
  • Translate product roadmap into the product backlog and prioritize it according to the highest value for the end-users
  • Establish and channel an in-depth understanding of user personas, their behaviour, pain points and needs
  • Actively participate in the UX design process to create, test and validate new ideas
  • Collaborate with the content development team and drive cross-functional roadmap execution (create user stories, define product requirements, participate in team’s ceremonies, provide user insights and more)
  • Work cross-functionally on product launches, define what success looks like (metrics), monitor performance, impact, and team performance, and iterate quickly when needed
  • Collaborate with the product manager on understanding overall market needs, gathering insights for future prioritization and sharing in-depth user knowledge
  • Consistent use of tracking and roadmap tools (Atlassian suite)


Qualifications: 


The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • 5+ years in Agile product owner roles, particularly in mobile app development
  • Product and Backlog management experience in an Agile organisation (Scrum, Kanban)
  • A well-worn toolkit of requirements gathering, documenting. user testing and product validation techniques
    • UML, Use Case modelling, A/B testing etc. 
  • Communication and Stakeholder management - excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be fluent in English (our working language)

Bonus points for:

  • PO Certification
  • Game development experience
